   wrong. badfinger sung it originally but they were rubbish at singing it, then this guy got it and almost aced it, air supply got it and did it to perfection then mariah carey messed it up.

    It was almost prophetic that Pete Ham of Badfinger decided to take his own life. Then the lyrics become very haunting in light of that!

    Great song though….especially sung by this guy Harry Nilsson. who could hit notes guys were supposed to even be able to hit!!!

    it was year 1972.the original is pete ham who composed the song.
