After the meal and a chance for some photos, he was meeting with President Hamid Karzai. Obama has been saying the U.S. military needs to focus its attention on the fight against terrorism and pull out of Iraq.The prime minister of Iraq is quoted as saying Barack Obama’s timeline to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq sounds good to him. Nouri al-Maliki says the 16 month withdrawal window should give his country enough time to be able to provide its own security. A spokesman for al-Maliki’s office says his comments to a German magazine were misunderstood and security concerns should dictate the timeline.Parts of North Carolina are getting some well-needed rain. Tropical Storm Cristobal is dumping up to five inches of rain on the state. The national hurricane center says Cristobal is running basically parallel to the coast and is expected to gain strength in the next day or two.The Pope has wrapped up his last full day in Australia with a Mass to more than 300,000 people.
